Marston Preschool is set in the local Scout Hut, We have sole use throughout the day in which we operate, We are lucky enough to have our own secure large outdoor area, with the benefit of a small field on our grounds. We have ample safe off road parking for parents and carers to drop off and collect their children. We are open term time only but hope to run some fun activities throughout the holidays in which parents and carers can also attend with their children.
At Marston Preschool we have a handpicked team of qualified professionals who are kind, caring and highly motivated to provide the children with a great learning experience. We are all paediatric first aid trained, Safeguarding trained and regularly update other relevant training. All staff, volunteers and regular visitors are enhanced DBS checked to ensure suitability in working with children.
We offer a fantastic range of indoor activities that explore all areas of the EYFS including a busy well equipped creative area with a messy area for play dough, cornflour, porridge and lots more. In our setting we have a wonderful range of role play and small world toys. Our snuggly story corner is also very popular!
Routine is important to prepare the children for life experience, it also makes them feel safe and secure. We have daily flexible planning to meet all the childrens needs covering the seven areas of the EYFS, we have a great selection of activities every day for the children to choose from.
During sessions we provide healthy snacks and refreshments for all children at no extra charge. Water is always available and the children are offered a carton of milk to enjoy with their snack if they prefer.
Children can join us for lunch, if you wish for your child to enjoy lunch with us, please ensure you pack a healthy packed lunch, an ice pack would be an advantage as we will store packed lunches on the trolley in a cool and shady area. (we don't have enough space for all in the refrigerator) If you would like ideas for your Childs lunch please look on our notice board or talk to a member of staff. Lots of wonderful ideas are also on the internet.
We have policies and procedures in place to ensure our setting is a safe place for everyone to attend, these must be always followed.
A well child:
At Marston Preschool all children that attend must be well, this means they must be well enough to join in with all preschool activities both indoors and outdoors. A child that is reliant on calpol or other medicines will not be accepted into preschool, this includes running a high temperature. Children who have needed calpol in the morning should not attend Preschool that day.
Marston Preschool is happy to administer prescribed medicines with instruction from the Childs doctor.
If your child has sickness or diarrhoea please note they are not permitted to attend until 48 hours since the last experience of either. Please ensure you let staff know of any infections so we can alert other parents.
Children that have a high temperature, rash or any other contagious infections will not be allowed to Preschool until they are well.
